Day 1: Thousand of years of history in one day
We leave London, passing through picturesque towns and villages on the old coaching road to the elegant Georgian city of Bath. En route we'll pass through the town of Hungerford by the Kennet, a rare chalk river and Marlborough famous for its school attended by The Princess of Wales and mythical burial place of Merlin the magician. We'll stop to view Silbury Hill, the largest pre-historic man made hill in Europe. There will also be time to explore West Kennet Long Barrow, an ancient burial site over 5,000 years old. A short drive from here is Avebury and the largest pre-historic man made stone circle in the world.
